ECWORLD.FUND - history, author, audience

ECWORLD.FUND is a resource that utilizes a systems approach to analyzing, studying, researching, and forecasting processes occurring in and around the economy, viewing these processes as the result of interactions and struggles between elite groups, rooted in human behavior patterns.

History of Development.

On September 6, 2010, this resource launched on the LiveJournal (LJ) platform as a trading journal for trader Denis Suchilin, which over time gained popularity among thousands of active LJ users. The next stage in the resource's development occurred in 2012, when it accurately predicted sharp changes in the foreign exchange market and the devaluation of several currencies in the coming years 2014-2020. Subsequently, a series of successful currency trades were publicly conducted during the 2014-2015 trading season, essentially capturing all the movements, both weakening and strengthening, of the currency, after which it accurately predicted the peak devaluation of several currencies against the dollar in early 2016.

After this, the project gradually evolved from a transaction diary into a resource where every visitor could gain knowledge not only about trading on international stock markets but also about the overall processes occurring in the economy and the functioning of complex government, industrial, financial, and other economic entities, including, to a significant extent, the financial sector (which includes banks, insurance companies, non-state pension funds, management companies, etc.), where the site's author, Denis Suchilin, worked for over 10 years as CFO (he was responsible for both finance and, at certain periods, strategy and development at the Financial Group).

By April 3, 2019, all posts from the ecworld blog in LJ were transferred to this Website. From this point on, this Website is the primary source of information. All communication and knowledge accumulation takes place here.

Target audience of the website.

The site is primarily visited by the economically active population aged 28-55, with an average income 3.5-4.5 times higher than the average internet user (according to the survey):

  • 21% - entrepreneurs;
  • 7% - top managers;
  • 13% - middle management;
  • 36% - highly qualified and established specialists;
  • 4% - investors (including traders);
  • 19% - other categories.

The site is a source of useful practical information not only on basic economic processes (Russian and global economies), but also contains information on specific tools and methods for improving the effectiveness of capital management, both personal/family and the capital (assets) of large economic entities, as well as information on financial data analysis and the risk system when working with capital.

Information for those just beginning to learn about the stock market.

For 15 years, the Site has compiled near-daily analytics, regular market sentiment assessments, and a portion of the Site author's trades over 15 years (from 2010 to 2016, most of the information is publicly available; further information is in Hidden Records).

Essentially, it is the largest analytical and detailed knowledge base for practical stock market trading on the internet. It is also the largest private platform for analyzing and forecasting long-term (economic and political) processes. The site currently contains over 5,000 articles by a single author.

The point is that history and markets are cyclical. It's important to sometimes "go back" and see what happened in a similar situation, how you would have behaved then, and how you are acting now. You won't find a better textbook on how to analyze the market, how to make decisions, and why those decisions were made, with such a number of practically daily examples, anywhere online.

Furthermore, since 2016, the posts have placed great emphasis on describing criteria (systematicity and logic) and methods for collecting and analyzing information. This allows us to view a problem/news/event not within the confines of a single specific situation, but more broadly—linking it logically to other events, establishing interconnections, and ultimately constructing a system of interconnected events. This allows us to make decisions without being influenced by the media or the market itself, and to view the situation (problem, event) more objectively.

This approach makes it possible to improve the effectiveness of our decisions not only in the stock market or in capital (savings) management, but in life in general. Because new complex problems and the process of solving them allow us to build new connections between neurons [in the brain] and "restructure the logic" of how we perceive current events. This shifts from a "positive/negative" perspective to a "what's really happening and how to use it to improve your family's well-being" perspective. The site devotes significant time to solving practical logic problems.

In recent years, many new materials have appeared on entrepreneurship, business, how to become an entrepreneur, and how to be an entrepreneur. The site also publishes information on developing logic, systems thinking, and other key skills for the modern, active person.
